No NYE bash in Indore; violators of COVID restrictions to face criminal charges

Witnessing a change in the COVID scenario, the district administration has banned a midnight bash across Indore. As per the order released by the administration on Thursday, violation of the ongoing restrictions on New Year's Eve will attract some serious repercussions including in the capital city. Notably, a 6-hour night curfew from 11 PM is currently imposed across Madhya Pradesh.

Night Curfew, Section 144 imposed in Indore in view of Omicron scare

Amid the rising COVID cases in the city, the District Magistrate of Indore has imposed Section 144 across the city, under the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and the National Disaster Management Act, 2005. The timings for the curfew are 11 PM to 5 AM. This step has been taken in Indore to eliminate the risk of a further spike in infection. 10,402 covid-19 active cases in MP; night curfew imposed in Indore & 4 other districts

A night curfew has been imposed in five districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Ratlam and Vidisha. This action was taken after a sudden surge in coronavirus cases in the state and the evident fear of a second-wave. There will be no lockdown pertaining to business or industrial activities and no restrictions on the movement of goods carriers and industrial workers have been imposed either.
