Lucknow University has charted a student's welfare scholarship scheme to financially aid the education of the needy meritorious students. As per reports, a yearly ₹15,000 grant will be provided to the shortlisted candidates. Earlier also, the university had launched the Karmyogi scheme to promote independent financial standing among students, permitting a maximum earning of ₹15,000 in a year.
Eligibility of Chatra Kalyan Scholarship
The University of Lucknow has decided to set up a fund to provide a scholarship that would ease the tuition fee pressures on the students. Known as the Chatra Kalyan Scholarship, the grant is set to ease the troubles of the economically weak yet promising students, who are presently struggling with the pressures of fees, food and accommodation.
As per reports, any student whose parent's or guardian's total annual income is less than ₹300,000 is eligible to apply for this financial aid. However, only candidates on the merit list, that is, those who have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the previous examinations- along with 75% attendance. Students applying for this scholarship must also not be availing financial benefits via any other fellowships or scholarship, the LU Spokesperson informed.
Professor Poonam Tandon, the Dean of Students Welfare informed that the administrative force of the university has received as many as 343 applications, where about 49 eligible candidates were shortlisted- on a merit basis. This is a consolidated list of all under-graduate, post-graduate and PhD students who have applied for the scheme.
