IIT-Kanpur installs Health ATM with help of SGPGI-Lucknow

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow (PGI) jointly inaugurated a Health ATM at IIT-K, last week. The machine is a unique telemedicine platform that integrates computer, biomedical diagnostics, point-of-care laboratory testing, and video conferencing systems. The usefulness of telemedicine has been highlighted during the Covid-19 pandemic.

SGPGI in Lucknow to get a helipad; Air-ambulance service to begin soon!

Professors at IIT-Kanpur & SGPGI Lucknow develop 3D robotic motion platform for radiation therapy

In an attempt to streamline technology with medicine, professors at IIT-Kanpur and SGPGI in Lucknow, have developed a programmable 3D robotic motion platform for radiation therapy. A novel invention, the model can simulate human lung motion during radiation therapy and enable a focused direction during actual cancer treatment.

As per reports, efforts are underway to commercialise the new model to replace the overseas expensive counterpart which is presently in use. The new platform is not only an indigenous resort but also is much more advanced than the system in place now.

Liver transplants at Lucknow's SGPGIMS to now be performed by an internal team of doctors

Adding to the premier services available at Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, the doctors at this centre will also perform liver transplants now. While the healthcare facility was dependent on help from the external staff for liver transplants till now, the procedure shall be conducted by an exclusively internal team now. For this purpose, a group of doctors has been formed and they are fully trained to perform the critical process.
