Uttar Pradesh is all set to get its first tribal museum by March 2022!

Boosting the tourism potential of the state, Uttar Pradesh is all set to get its first tribal museum by March 2022. The 'Tharu Janjati Museum' will be set up at Imilia Koder village, a Tharu-populated area in the Balrampur district. According to officials, the museum will be centred around the vibrant and varied culture and lifestyle of the Tharu tribe. Spread over an expanse of 5.5 acres, the museum is under the last phase of its construction.

UP becomes the first state in India to record more than 11 crore vaccinations!

In a remarkable feat, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to record the administration of more than 11 crore COVID vaccination doses. According to logs, the total count of inoculations administered in the state touched the 11.07 crore mark by 9 PM on Monday. Further, official figures state that Lucknow has contributed significantly to the state's vaccination tally, with over 39.42 lakh doses given in the city.

River ranching to reduce pollution & enhance the cleanliness of Ganga in UP

In a move to ehannce the ecosystem of Ganga, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to initiate the measure of river ranching. Being implemented under the Namami Gange campaign, this intervention will enhnace the cleanliness of the river and mitigate the effects of pollution. As a part of this project, the Department of Fisheries has prepared a plan to introduce 15 lakh fishes of varied species into the river.

UP to get 2 plastic processing parks to ensure increased recycling & reuse

In a significant move towards sustainable development goals, the Uttar Pradesh government has prepared plans to establish two plastic processing plants in the state. While the first plant will be set up in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, the other facility is proposed to come up in Gorakhpur. The current project has been formulated, in light of the inflating demands for plastic goods, being observed across the globe.

UPCOP app to be equipped with a new feature for enhanced safety of state residents!

In a bid to scale up the safety and security of state residents, UP Police has decided to add a new feature to UPCOP, a citizen-centric mobile application operational in Uttar Pradesh. With this latest addition, citizens will be able to undertake more protected journeys while commuting in different cities in UP. They will be apprised about the probable dangers on specific roads, highways and other sensitive areas in the city, including information about the blind turns.
