Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Before the mainstream commercial brands came to Lucknow and bombarded us with a multitude of options, there were only a few kiosks you could trust for the good ol’ kulfi falooda and badaam milk. As soon as the school bell rang, we would run out of the school and pester our parents until they gave in and bought us a cone, a glass or a cup of the milky goodness.

Call it ‘Mevad Prem’, call it ‘Dev Darpan’, call it ‘Dev Durga’, those ice cream kiosks were the best things about summer. The cooling milk-badaam topped with a mountain of fake gelatinous “cherry” was everything we could have asked for and to this day, a good milk-badaam reminds us of those summer days.

If you’ve been wanting to feel the rush of nostalgia wash over you as you relive the heyday of your life, try out the Dev-Durga truck, which stands near the Samta Mulak chowk, towards Fun Republic Mall.

Special Rabri Falooda and much more...

No matter how hard famous brands like Amul and MTR try, the kind of taste, flavour and experience these freshly churned milk-badaam or badaam shakes provide, is truly unmatched. Not only is “Dev-Durga” a pleasant rush of nostalgia, the shakes along with the falooda they serve are much superior than the cult brands. So, Dev-Durga over Keventers any day!

To amp up the nostalgic factor and remind us some more of the gelatinous colourful cherries, the ‘Dev-Durga’ ice-cream truck serves their shakes and falooda topped with a papaya jelly, which somehow reminds us of the jelly balls in Boba tea.

Fresh and Flavorful all the way

The best part about the ice cream truck is that every thing they do is made from scratch. From the kulfi to the papaya jelly, everything is freshly made and that is what makes all the difference.

The base of all of the shakes and the falooda at Dev-Durga is a creamy and luxurious kulfi, which is thick, not overly sweet and its infused with nuts. If you haven’t tried them yet, now is the time!

If you are a foodie who wants to explore the many options that Lucknow has to offer, you're in the right place. Try the amazing ice-cream & falooda shakes at Dev-Durga and don't forget to tag us!

Location: Near Samta Mulak Chowk, near Fun Republic Mall.
