Jaipur Literature Festival 2022 is all ready to spin its splendour at Hotel Clarks Amber in Jaipur from March 5 to 14 and this year, the scope of programmes will be more than just literary icons. Donning a contemporary look, the 15th edition of JFL will bring important issues under the scope of discussion, besides its custom coverage of art, travel and history. Visitors and participants will focus on real-time issues such Ukraine-Russia conflict, climate change, new world order to add to the relevancy of the festival, read reports. Addressing a press conference here, Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director at Teamwork Arts, said, “We are delighted to be back on-ground with the Jaipur Literature Festival weaving its magic again. This year’s programme celebrates the diversity of literature and offers a wide range of topics, including the Ukraine-Russia conflict, climate change, new world order, art of fiction, poetic imagination, travel, science, history etc.”
A kaleidoscopic celebration of art, JLF will also feature vernacular and regional languages this year. Around 15 Indian languages will be a part of its displays, he added. Specific sessions on Rajasthani heritage and culture will also be held here.

JLF to be stepping stone for tourism boost

Apurv Kumar, Managing Director, Clarks Group of Hotels, the venue for the offline event, said, “We are indeed privileged that the 15th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival is being held at Hotel Clarks Amer. It is quite well-known that Clarks has always been associated with this mega literary event.” The festival will help boost tourism for it attracts a lot of people. A large footfall is expected from the country and beyond.
“We used to host the evening music stages. This time both the literary sessions as well the Jaipur Music Stage in the evening will be held here. It is only appropriate to point out that this festival is one of the biggest events in the state and to my mind, it is a great tourism event” , Kumar said.

The Jaipur Literature Festival will display a host of sessions, highlighting the dialects and nuances of dialects of Rajasthan-centric literature. The event will celebrate the poetic devices of literature, music and languages of the desert state with speaker Chandra Prakash Deval. The port and litterateur will be accompanied by poet Anukrti Upadhyay.
While Rajasthan has long been a dynamic cultural centre and home to prestigious art forms, with rich oral, linguistic and literary traditions, the language still awaits official recognition in the schedule of Indian languages. The session will bring it to the limelight.
Besides, another session on the treasures at the Jaipur Court, author Vandana Bhandari and historian Giles Tillotson will be in conversation with historian Rima Hooja. This panel will discuss the magnificent treasures commissioned and collected over centuries by the Jaipur Court.
Historians Yashaswini Chandra and Rima Hooja will make another discussion board, covering topics of warrior-king Maharana Pratap and his legendary horse Chetak. Together they will explore the legend of the iconic pair.
