Mumbai’s Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), inaugurated on January 12, has become a rapid success, witnessing an average of nearly 30,000 vehicles traversing its 21.8 km span daily in the first 10 days. Managed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the MTHL has raked in a substantial daily average toll revenue of ₹61.50 lakh, reportedly.
Day one alone saw 28,176 vehicles contributing ₹54.77 lakh, while day two saw an even higher surge with 54,977 vehicles generating ₹1.06 crore. Connecting Sewri to Chirle, the MTHL not only showcases engineering marvel but also plays a pivotal role in Mumbai’s transportation network.

Traffic on the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) is efficiently managed by both Mumbai and Navi Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police handle the initial 10.4-kilometer stretch from Sewri, while Nhava Sheva Police oversee the remaining sea link under Navi Mumbai’s jurisdiction. This collaborative effort ensures a seamless and coordinated traffic flow throughout the MTHL route.
