The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) has introduced a new programme, Information Technology Management for Strategic Business Leadership (ITMSBL), aimed at preparing senior IT professionals for leadership roles as Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs).
The new six-month programme is designed to help IT specialists transition into strategic business visionaries by bridging the gap between technology and business management.
Programme structure, eligibility, and key details
The ITMSBL programme will follow a blended learning format, featuring weekly Direct-to-Desktop (D2D) online sessions every Sunday from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, along with on-campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad. The first on-campus immersion is scheduled from May 10 to May 12, 2025, with the programme concluding in November 2025.
Applicants must have a a minimum of 60% marks in their undergraduate (10+2+3) or postgraduate degree and should be working in senior positions rather than junior executive roles. The selection process will be based on individual profiles and a Statement of Purpose (SoP).

Evaluation criteria and certification
Participants will be assessed through online and offline evaluations, case studies, quizzes, and class participation. A Certificate of Completion (CoC) from IIM Ahmedabad will be awarded to those who maintain 80% attendance and meet assessment criteria.
