Ahmedabad is grappling with a concerning rise in air pollution levels. The city's air quality index (AQI) continues to escalate, indicating significant pollution. While industrial areas were once the primary hotspots, now even residential areas such as Bhopal, Satellite, Income Tax Road, Navarangpura, and Naranpura are reporting AQI levels ranging from 190 to 200 (severe).

Environmentalists attribute this surge to the growing number of vehicles in the city and a lack of compliance with construction regulations, leading to increased dust and smoke emissions, further exacerbating the air pollution issue.

During his visit to Gujarat, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate numerous development projects with a total investment of over Rs 5,900 crore. These projects span various government departments, including the Indian Railways, Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (GRIDE), state water resource and water supply departments, roads and buildings, and the urban development departments.

These 16 development initiatives will encompass districts in Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, and Patan. The inauguration marks a significant step towards enhancing the region's infrastructure and development.

The ongoing issue of stray cattle and dogs wandering the city's streets continues to pose a threat to the safety of residents. Multiple citizens have reported injuries and incidents related to these roaming animals, urging the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to take immediate action. In response to the lack of substantial progress, the Gujarat High Court has criticized the Ahmedabad city police commissioner, city municipal commissioner, and the principal secretary of the Urban Development Department for failing to address the cattle menace effectively.

AMC has been granted a one-week timeframe to demonstrate improvements in the situation, and stringent measures are expected to be implemented throughout the city.
