Today marks the commencement of the ministerial conference on women's empowerment, held under India's G20 presidency. The conference will be chaired by Smriti Irani, the Union Minister of Women and Child Development.

Over the course of the event, key discussions will revolve around topics including gender parity, the role of education in empowering women, fostering women's entrepreneurship for equitable economic growth, promoting women's leadership across all levels, empowering women and girls as climate resilience change-makers, and the significance of digital skilling in advancing women's empowerment.

Apart from these pressing topics, the conference will also address critical global issues such as climate change and sustainable development. An official statement issued in this regard underscores the conference's primary objective of drawing attention to the insufficient progress made towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The three-day event will be inaugurated with a special video address by the Prime Minister, wherein he will emphasize India's unwavering commitment to advancing women's progress.
