Jatin Shewaramani

The northern and central regions of the Indian subcontinent are experiencing spells of unseasonal rainfall, thunderstorms and altered weather conditions. These can be attributed to the westerly and northwesterly winds (western disturbances) prevailing over the lower levels of various regions.

According to the India Meteorological Department, there will be an impact of winds on the state of Gujarat in the coming few days. Initially, the western disturbances are expected to cause a rise in temperature of 2-3°C in Ahmedabad and other cities of Gujarat on April 24 & 25, followed by unseasonal rainfall and heavy gusts of winds on April 26 and 27.

Based on IMD's forecast, it is anticipated that there will be light rain or thunderstorms in isolated areas of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad on April 26.
