Google launches Startup School India to guide over 10K startups across the country

Google‘s Startup School India (SSI) is a series of guided online nine-week training programmes, designed to equip early-stage startup founders with knowledge which is essential for growing companies.

With close to 70,000 startups, India is the third-largest budding ground for fast-growing startups in the world. However, 90% of these fail within the first five years of their journey mostly because of unmanaged cash burn, flawed demand assessment, ineffective feedback loops or lack of leadership.

About the program: Startup School India (SSI) 

“Startups are no longer restricted to Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai or Hyderabad. We have multitudes of fast-growing startups headquartered in centers such as Jaipur, Indore, Gorakhpur and more. In fact, these account for nearly 50 per cent of all recognized startups in India today,” said Aditya Swamy, director, Play Partnerships Google.

Startup School India, a Google for startups is designed to align and support sprouting entrepreneurs. It primarily aims at early-stage founders. Insights from google leaders and trailblazing collaborators on what makes an effective founder, how to formalise hiring and more to feature in the curriculum. Aiming for startups from smaller cities, the program will offer an extensive range of instructional modules including effective product strategy, product user value, app building for markets like India and driving user acquisition. Notably, the attendees will have an option to pick the modules to attend.
