In an attempt to further strengthen its presence in the country, the opening of two Apple retail stores has been announced by the tech giant. The first retail store, at Mumbai's BKC, will be thrown open for shoppers on April 18. The second Apple retail store, coming up in Delhi's Saket, will start operations on April 20. These will be the first two official Apple retail stores in India, as opposed to Apple authorized sellers, which are a dime a dozen.

Both stores will be powered by renewable energy

As is the case with all facilities operated by Apple, their new retail stores in India will be powered 100% by renewable energy resources. Furthermore, both stores will also celebrate the heritage and local culture of the cities.

For instance, the BKC Apple store in Mumbai will start a series ahead of the opening named "Mumbai Rising", that will bring together local artists, creators and visitors for sessions that celebrate the diverse culture of the maximum city.

The Apple retail store in Delhi, on the other hand, features a barricade designed on the lines of the many historic gates in the capital city.

Indians can now browse for the latest Apple products

Apart from the symbolic celebration of the cities, the new Apple retail stores will cater to the growing population of Apple users in India.
