Indore's COVID-19 active caseload exceeds 2,000 mark after a 3-month gap; highest across MP

Indore is actively nursing a high total of 2,090 active cases of COVID-19, breaching the repressed tallies of the last three months. Besides this, the district is single-handedly adding the maximum share of fresh cases to the state's tallies every day. For the last 5 days, daily new cases have been scaling an upward trend here, clocking a maximum of 326 infections on Sunday. This rapid rise of COVID-19 cases and staggered recovery rate have been lined up as primary reasons for the surging active load here, which projects the possibility of new troubles for Indore's medical infrastructure.

While the coronavirus growth rate has been restricted at 0.4% in Indore, the district's confirmed cases have surged over 300, two days in a row. Consequently, beds at COVID care facilities and other healthcare institutes are filling-fast, which may lead to a dearth soon.

However, the COVID-19 resurgence this time around is marked by awareness. The District Incharge of Contact Tracing informed that more and more people are getting treated in home isolation as lesser critical cases are surfacing. This has also helped to contain the death-toll due to the virus. So far, Indore has clocked in about 64,153 cases since the initial outbreak of the virus; out of this, around 61,119 have recovered while 944 have succumbed to the infection.
