Indore launches a massive COVID vaccination campaign for people aged over 18 years today!

In a bid to boost phase 3 of the COVID vaccination drive, Indore has launched a massive vaccination drive today. With 20,000 vaccine doses in its inventories, Indore has decided to extend an active immunity campaign until May 15 for people over 18 years. Reportedly, India's cleanest city aims to be number one in inoculation achievement, as well and has set a scaling strategy to reach its goal. The jabs will ramp up from 100 doses at one centre today to 4,480 doses at 44 centres in the next 10 days.

In the first segment of phase 3 COVID vaccination, about 20,000 vaccinations have been made available in Indore and these will be employed in a graded format to inoculate listed beneficiaries (18 to 44 years age group). As per reports, starting on May 5, i.e today, a single centre at the Indore municipal headquarters will kickstart the immunity drive with 100 stocks of the vaccine.

This will slowly ramp up to 30 centres by May 8 and to a higher, 44 centres by May 12. Approximately, 19,640 people will receive the COVID jab in 7 active days of the inoculation. According to the plan, the drive will remain suspended on May 7, May 9 and May 11. The medical team aims to immunise about 18 lakh people falling in the 18-44 age group. They can register on the Co-WIN portal to book their slots until the 100 stocks last on May 5 and likewise on May 6. After this, the link registration will be closed until May 8.

Slots can be booked in facilities nearest to your home by sorting through the pincode. In case a beneficiary is unable to get the vaccination on the appointed date for any reason, they can also reschedule their centre, date and time slot.
