Indore Zoo to introduce immersive virtual jungle safari with new 4D theatre

Khushbu Kirti

Soon, you will be able to indulge in an immersive, multi-sensory experience of a jungle safari virtually at your city zoo! We're talking feeling the motion, scent, vibration, wind, rain, temperature changes, lights and much more — all from the comfort of the auditorium.

The Indore Zoo, or Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya, is up for a major upgrade. The zoo will soon get a 4D theatre, touted to be the first of its kind in central India. The theatre will bring to the spectators a completely new way of experiencing a jungle safari.

Nandkishore Pahadiya, an MiC member, shared "This will be a new and thrilling experience for residents of Indore as this will be the first and only virtual park in central India. It will be constructed on PPP model. The cost of which will be Rs 3 crore, and the corporation will earn annual revenue of Rs 6 lakh for 15 years."

The 4D and virtual Jungle Safari will make it seem as if the animals on screen are right in front of the onlookers — one of the perks of 4D. The virtual forest will help spectators experience wind gusts, rain and more natural phenomena of the forest. Children, along with their families, will be able to enjoy the immersive Virtual Jungle Safaris soon.
