Day 3 of the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games, being held in Madhya Pradesh, saw the beginning of the Kayaking and Canoeing competitions that are making a debut in the games. The hosts bagged all four gold medals on offer, ensuring absolute domination in the water sports segment.

Water sports are being held at Bhopal's Upper Lake

Madhya Pradesh's story of superiority on water started with the state's Kayaking pair of Nitin Verma and Rimson Mairembam bagging the gold in K-2 1000m Boys' sprint, winning comfortably by a distance. But Nitin wasn't done yet, as he went on to clinch the gold in Kayaking singles, as well, taking his personal tally to 2 gold medals.

In the C-2 Canoe sprint, the pair of Niraj Verma and Devendra Sen took home the gold before Niraj went ballistic in solo mode, too, dominating the Canoeing singles to complete MP's dominance in Bhopal's Upper Lake. Odisha and Telangana, who bagged a total of six medals (silver and gold), also impressed in the water sports segment of Khelo India youth Games.
