The regional met department has issued a red alert in Indore and other Madhya Pradesh districts as heavy rainfall and hailstorm hit the city on Sunday, April 30. The intermittent but strong showers also led to water clogging at various places in the city throughout the weekend. The temperatures in Indore stayed below normal on Saturday and Sunday.

Apart from Indore, the regional weather department has issued a red alert in Bhopal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Dewas and Shajapur among other MP districts. Furthermore, this is the first time in the past 10 years that the maximum temperature in Indore did not touch 40°C throughout April.
