Rajasthan sets 18-day target to immunise people over 60 years of age in Jaipur & other districts

The Rajasthan Health Department has aimed to immunise all people over the age of 60 years in Jaipur and other state districts, in a timeline of 18 days. The state health department has decided to ramp up its vaccination site infrastructure to meet with the high beneficiary count of about 88 lakh people. This new boosted drive will increase the vaccination potential to deliver 4 lakh jabs, every day.

Rajashthan steps up COVID vaccination infrastructure

State health department officials, in a video conference meeting on Monday, decided to ramp up its vaccination drive to deliver twice as much as its previous operations. A senior health official further informed that the scaled-up vaccination system will help to administer about 4 lakh doses a day, instead of the previous 2 lakh jabs, daily.

From March 1, the state has administered the first dose of vaccine to about 16, 20,913 people over the age of 60 years. On Monday, 2,06,352 people were vaccinated here, taking the total count of vaccinations to 31,05,252, so far. Out of this high tally, 26,33,236 people have received the first dose of vaccine, while the remaining, 4,72,016 are totally immunised, with both doses.

Rajasthan reported about 241 new infections on Tuesday, mounting the tally of confirmed cases here to 3,23,461infections. Contributing the maximum share to these numbers, Jaipur reported about 31 fresh cases yesterday, the highest across all state districts. With an aggregate total of 60,078 cases, the state capital is presently nursing an active caseload of 516 patients. Both recovery and death toll are trudging at a slow pace here, increasing the active tally.
