Previously, on September 30, the government had issued an order, restraining the use of firecrackers from October 1 till January 31 because of the repercussions of air pollution on COVID-19 patients. However, now an amended order permits the sale and use of green crackers during Diwali, Chhath festival, Gurupurab, Christmas, and New Year. The order is not applicable in Bharatpur and Alwar that are a part of the NCR jurisdiction.

Additionally, the firework timing is fixed for every festivity, as per the official orders. On Diwali, Gurupurab and other festivities, the residents of Rajasthan will be allowed to light eco-friendly fireworks from 8 PM to 10 PM.

At the Chhath festival, crackers will be allowed from 6 AM to 8 AM and on Christmas and New Year from 11:55 PM to 12:30 AM, respectively. As per the official regulations, all green fireworks will have a QR code on the box which can be scanned by individuals through the NEERI app on their mobiles to confirm their authenticity.
