Knocksense Shorts | No liquor bottles without holograms will be sold in Rajasthan

Drishti Mathur

To reduce the illegal sale and smuggling of alcohol in Rajasthan, the State Excise Department has come up with a track and trace system. Under this system, liquor bottles without holograms will not be accepted after August 16th.

Additionally, there will be a barcode on each bottle and boxes, which will be scanned once at the warehouse and again before and after sending it to the retailers.

As per the orders, the stock without the holograms with the suppliers, if any, must be returned to the Rajasthan State Beverages Corporation Ltd. (RSBCL) till August 15. From there, the stock can be sold until September 15th.

Reportedly, the barcodes will be generated by the distilleries and breweries. It will include details such as manufacturing date, expiry date, unique serial numbers, batch numbers, and information about the batch.
