In an attempt to divert a sharp increase in cases of Covid-19 and other viral infections in Kanpur, district health officials will start a Communicable Disease campaign from April 1. Generating public awareness about various diseases will be the top focus of this campaign which will also see health officials taking preventive action in areas where there's a risk of increased infections.

Campaign will be followed by a 14-day 'Dastak Abhiyan'

Teams comprising of Kanpur health officials and the Panchayat Raj department will work together to make sure that the communicable disease campaign proves to be effective enough in nipping any potential outbreaks in the bud.

Furthermore, doubling down on the potential rise in cases of infectious diseases in the city, the communicable disease campaign in Kanpur will be followed by a 'Dastak Abhiyan'. The latter will be a 14-day campaign in which Anganwadi and Asha workers will go door-to-door, raising awareness around vector borne diseases like Dengue and Malaria.
