Kanpur is all set to take another step towards decongesting its roads and enabling smooth commute for its residents. That's because the design for Kanpur's Jarib Chowki railway over bridge has been finalized at a project cost of ₹175 crore.

With this step, the construction of the elevated Anwarganj-Mandhana railway track is also expected to be sped up.

Construction of the bridge to be completed in 3 years

According to the approved design, the said railway over bridge will have a total of 4 entry and exit ramps. Which means that commuters arriving from 4 different routes will be able to get on the over-bridge and avoid traffic. The ramp towards GT road will be 15 meters wide while the ramp on the route going towards clock tower will be 7.5 meters wide.

If everything regarding the project goes on smoothly and on time, this railway over bridge in Kanpur is expected to become operational in a maximum of two and a half to three years.
