Empowering environmental stewardship, Kanpur to host rainwater harvesting training program

Jatin Shewaramani

In a concerted effort to promote sustainable environmental management, a comprehensive training program on rainwater harvesting (RWH) is set to take place in Kanpur from March 5-7.

The program aims to raise awareness and enhance skills regarding RWH initiatives among a diverse audience, including panchayat functionaries, NGO representatives, entrepreneurs, architects, and engineers from Kanpur and Kanpur Dehat regions. Workshops will cover the latest RWH methods and water management strategies tailored to the local context.

Given the prevalent tropical monsoon climate in most parts of India, including Uttar Pradesh, RWH methods hold immense potential for addressing water scarcity issues. The sessions will focus on equipping participants with practical knowledge on harnessing rainwater from rooftops and open spaces, emphasizing its role as a viable alternative water source.

Registration for the training seminar is open until February 23, 2024, welcoming enthusiastic participants from both urban and rural areas. Willing participants can register here.
