IIT Kanpur and University of California sign MoU for research collaborations

Students in IIT Kanpur will now be able to gain mentorship from experts overseas.

In an attempt to tackle the challenges in the fields of science and technology, IIT Kanpur and University of California, Santa Cruz have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate efforts for research and academic studies. As a result of such collaborations, students from both prestigious institutes will be able to share their knowledge and expertise, bolstering joint efforts to solve complex problems in a range of disciplines.

Two institutes will conduct joint research in a slew of areas

This collaboration between IIT Kanpur and University of California will see the duo work together for studies and research in a range of future relevant fields. These areas include upcoming technologies and fields such as Machine Learning, Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science among others.

The supervision of PhD students will also be done jointly by mentors at both the prestigious institutes. In a nutshell, the collaboration will boost the strengths of the two institutes as they work together on research initiatives while also giving a wider perspective to their students.
