IIT Kanpur ties knot with defense PSU to nurture startups

Resources of both organisations will be utilised to nurture startups focused on cutting-edge technology.

Moving towards the path of innovation, IIT Kanpur's Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) has signed a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Agreement with Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AW&EIL). This partnership aims to provide financial support to the ever-dynamic start-up ecosystem in India, and to foster budding entrepreneurs with new technology and knowledge.

The agreement was signed at the Ordnance Factory, Kanpur, in presence of notable dignitaries from SIIC, IIT Kanpur and and AW&EIL.

Bracing for a brighter tomorrow 

The comprehensive financial partnership between IIT Kanpur's SIIC and AW&EIL under the CSR Policy, aims at stimulating growth of potential startups that prioritise innovations and are economically viable. Further, resources of both organisations will be utilised to nurture startups focused on cutting-edge technology.

Looking at the future, this partnership will help in overall growth of the country as the startups that emerge from this cooperation are likely to contribute significantly to the country’s economy. The dynamic startup ecosystem will promote revolutionary research, generate employment opportunities, and position India as a leading innovator on the global front.
