In a recent development for Kanpur, the much-awaited Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway (NE-6) has reached 50% completion. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), overseeing the construction, is making rapid progress and aims to finish the project by June 2025, making it accessible to the public.

The 63-km-long expressway will feature six lanes and connect the state capital, Lucknow, with Kanpur, a city renowned for its industrial operations, providing a significant boost to logistics. This expressway will reduce travel time between the two cities from 2 hours to just 45 minutes.

Another significant characteristic of this expressway will be that it will include multiple intersections, enhancing access for as many as 41 villages situated between Lucknow and Kanpur.
