The long-awaited Kanpur-Aligarh highway construction is reaching its final stages. Previously, travellers to Aligarh and Delhi were required to take the Etawah route.

With the impending opening of this 4-lane road, the distance between Kanpur and Delhi will be reduced by 90 km. This 284-km highway spans from Bauner in Aligarh to IIT in Kanpur.

The highway will improve connectivity to other key districts

The development of the route into a 4-lane highway has been underway since 2019. This ambitious initiative not only aims to enhance road infrastructure but also promises to significantly improve connectivity to other districts including Aligarh, Etah, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, and Kanpur.

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) timeline, the anticipated completion of this highway transformation is set for the conclusion of August. The project is further poised to be accessible to the public, fostering smoother and more efficient travel, starting from the onset of September.
