UPMRC to construct underground section from Kanpur Central to Transport Nagar Metro Station

Under the first corridor of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, Metro services are operational on nine km long from IIT-K to Motijheel

Connecting the farthest corners of the city, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is constructing a 3 KM long underground section from Kanpur Central to Transport Nagar which is a part of the extended 23 KM long first corridor of IIT-Kanpur to Naubasta. Currently metro services are operational on the 9 KM long Priority Section (IIT-Motijheel).

A work in progress 

Beyond Motijheel, the metro construction works on 3 KM long underground stretch is being executed from Kanpur Central to Jhakarkati Terminal and to Transport Nagar. Construction status of respective metro stations is as follows:

Jhakarkati Metro Station: So far, UPMRC has completed the D-wall construction at this metro station, along with 50% work of the roof-slab. A total of 66 D-wall panels have been constructed at Jhakarkati Metro Station.

Transport Nagar Metro Station: About 65% of D-wall construction has been completed at here. A total of 84 D-wall panels are to be constructed at Transport Nagar Metro station. In addition to this, construction of roof-slab and entry-exit is also being executed at a brisk pace.
