Khushbu Kirti

An initiative, that goes by the name 'Aarohini Initiative Training Programme', is being executed in all of the 746 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in Uttar Pradesh. A state government move, this programme will begin from February 1 with an aim to provide safety and security to girls of the schools.

The training will aid in imparting techniques to young women from the economically weaker strata of the society, make them self-reliant and enable them to be assertive for their rights. It also aims to make students and teachers gender-sensitive, groom them through debates and other activities, and make students solution-oriented.

All about Aarohini

As per the government press release, trainings will be provided to children by school teachers after they've been trained. The Aarohini programme will be carried out in three phases, the initial peg where teachers are trained and made acquainted about women's issues, the second phase where two teachers from each KGBV will educate the young women. As part of the third phase, this campaign will be organised at a community level and gender-sensitization training will be provided.

"In all 746 Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools of Uttar Pradesh 'Aarohini' programme will be conducted for the safety and security of daughters," UP Government took to Twitter to share.

Apart from this, an annual campaign by the name 'Daughters Campaign' will also be run in these schools under Mission Shakti 4.0. The government-run Mission Shakti aims at empowering women and numerous initiatives have been launched under the same.
