Cool shelters, timely heatwave warnings, and more.

In response to the rising heat in Lucknow, LMC has devised a Heat Action Plan (HAP) with the help of experts from the United Nations Habitat Group. As part of this plan, several heat zones will be identified across the city and targeted action will be taken to improve their state.

Furthermore, the plan is also aimed at protecting residents from the heatwave. Installing cool roofs, building green corridors, issuing timely heatwave warnings, and building cool shelters are some important facets of this new action plan.

The Public Works Department (PWD), Police, Disaster Management Authority, and the Labour Department will also play a pivotal role in executing LMC's new Heat Action Plan (HAP).
