Aminabad development gains pace as LMC moves to open 3 parking facilities

Better parking and tougher challans set to unclog Aminabad.

To address chronic parking issues in Aminabad, Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is preparing to open three new parking facilities. As per reports, Municipal Commissioner inspected Aminabad and adjoining areas on Friday to assess the ongoing development works. According to the Commissioner, all three facilities will be single-level structures. One will be dedicated exclusively to two-wheelers, while the remaining two will cater to both cars and bikes.

Existing challenges in Aminabad

Despite an existing municipal parking space next to Jhandewala Park, its limited capacity and higher fare often discourage usage. As a result, visitors continue to park on already congested market roads. Frequent traffic bottlenecks stem from this overflow, with narrow routes further complicating movement through the market.

Jhandewala Park’s municipal parking accommodates roughly 100 uncovered vehicles and operates from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

What improved facilities could mean

If additional parking spaces become operational and challan enforcement is strengthened, Aminabad may see a noticeable reduction in roadside parking and traffic snarls. A more reasonable fare structure could also encourage greater use of designated parking areas, easing congestion in the bustling market.
