Auto fare in Lucknow increased by ₹4.19 per km by State Transport Authority

Lucknow Auto Rickshaw Three Wheeler Association has expressed dissatisfaction over the hiked fare, terming it as 'low'.

Given the recent budget announcement, prices of many commodities as well as services around India have already increased. The city’s public transport is one such service. Roadways buses and auto fare in Lucknow have taken a hike. Implemented since February 06, 2023, State Transport Authority (STA) has approved to increase the minimum auto fare for one km from ₹6.39 to ₹10.58, an increase of ₹4.19.

Increased auto fare proposed by Union

According to the proposal given by the Union to the State Transport Authority to increase the fare, a demand was made to increase the minimum fare for the first two kms to ₹25. However, the hike for Three Wheeler Auto Rickshaw jumped from ₹6.39 to ₹10.24 per km and for Three Wheeler Tempo Vikram from ₹6.82 to ₹10.58 per km. The Lucknow Auto Rickshaw Three Wheeler Association expressed dissatisfaction over the hiked fare, terming it as low.

The distribution of auto fare from Charbagh to different locations in Lucknow is as under:

  • Chinhat: Full Auto ₹154, per passenger ₹52

  • Vibhuti Khand: Full Auto ₹138, per passenger ₹46

  • Engineering College: Full Auto ₹123, per passenger ₹41

  • PGI: Full Auto ₹123, per passenger ₹41

  • Munshi Pulia: Full Auto ₹118, per passenger ₹40

  • Husadia: Full Auto ₹115, per passenger ₹39

  • Patrakarpuram Chauraha: Full Auto ₹102 , per passenger ₹34

  • Hazratganj: Full Auto ₹34, per passenger ₹12

  • Nishatganj: Full Auto ₹62, per passenger ₹21

  • Alambagh Bus Stand: Full Auto ₹30.50 , per passenger ₹10

  • Alambagh Chauraha: Full Auto ₹36, per passenger ₹12

  • Chungi: Full Auto ₹72, per passenger ₹24

Further, it is important to remember that autos in the city from now on are prohibited to carry more than three passengers.
