Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) will be heading into a 'silent mode' from today, September 7, to enhance efficiency in serving passengers. Following the footsteps of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad airports, Lucknow airport will be next in line to implement the said initiative.

The 'silent mode' implies that there will be no audio announcements made thereafter. However, all the important information regarding flights will flash on all digital displays for the convinience of the passengers.

Ensuring a peaceful journey

The move is being implemented to make sure that the travellers have a peaceful journey and can utilise the quiet time by engaging in relaxing hobbies like reading or listening to music, without any sort of disturbance.

"Silence in the airport means more time for passengers to read a book, talk to their travel partner, listen to their favourite playlist, or work as per their need," an airport spokesperson explained.

However, information will display throughout the airport on numerous screens located at all the strategic areas like check-in halls, security hold areas, arrival halls and outside terminals.

"CCSIA will display flight information for passenger convenience at all the 81 Flight information display screens across Terminal-1 and Terminal-2," the spokesperson added.

Although, security-related and urgent announcements will be made as and when required, besides the compulsory COVID-19 protocol announcements.

Gateway to goodness

In order to sensitise travellers about the aforementioned move, an all-India campaign will also be held on social media handles like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
