Lucknow Weather News: Orange Alert issued, schools closed on August 8!

Lucknow has been experiencing relentless rainfall since Thursday.

All government and private schools in Lucknow, from pre-primary to Class 8, are closed today (August 8, 2025) due to continuous heavy rainfall and further rain forecasts. The district administration issued the closure order in response to warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Meanwhile, an Orange Alert has been issued for Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao, Bahraich, Gonda, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur. Lucknow has been experiencing relentless rainfall since Thursday night. Red Alerts have also been issued for Jaunpur, Sitapur, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Bhadohi, Mirzapur and Varanasi. Residents are advised to stay indoors and take necessary precautions.
