Ex-CDRI scientist & theatre doyen Anil Rastogi conferred with the Sangeet Natak Akademi award

Former deputy director of Lucknow's CDRI, veteran actor and theatre doyen, Dr. Anil Rastogi wears numerous feathers in his cap.

Bringing all the more accolades to the city, the ace actor was conferred the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi award by the National Academy of Music, Dance, and Drama. The award, given on Tuesday, recognises his exceptional contributions to the field of acting.

Hailing from Lucknow, Rastogi has also been honoured with the UP Sangeet Natak Academy award in 1984, UP Sangeet Natak Academy Fellowship in 2007, UP govt's highest civilian award Yash Bharti in 2016, Awadh Samman in 2019, among others.

With more than 600 performances spanning theatre, cinema and television to his name, the 81-year-old actor continues to inspire all. The CDRI scientist-turned-actor continues to follow his passion and even took the centre stage recently at Taj Mahotsav 2024.
