It’s time for the 50,000-seater Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, to go international! After a little over 2 decades, Lucknow will be hosting an international cricket match- India Vs West Indies, T20 on 6th November 2018.
The match was accorded to the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and it was a toss between Kanpur and Lucknow to see where the match was going to be held.
Fortunately, Lucknow has been bestowed with the opportunity to show off its perfectly manicured verdant arena!
Lucknow has already hosted Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy matches in the past. Last year due to incomplete infrastructural conditions, the third ODI between New Zealand and India was pushed to Kanpur.
In Lucknow, the previous international match was held in 1994 when India beat Sri Lanka in a Test match at KD Singh Babu Stadium!
The tour will commence with the first Test which starts in Rajkot from October 4.
The schedule is as follows:
1st Test: October 4-8 at Rajkot
2nd Test: October 12-16 at Hyderabad
1st ODI: October 21 at Guwahati
2nd ODI: October 24 at Indore
3rd ODI: October 27 at Pune
4th ODI: October 29 at Mumbai
5th ODI: November 1 at Thiruvananthapuram
1st T20I: November 4 at Kolkata
2nd T20I: November 6 at Lucknow
3rd T20I: November 11 at Chennai
Ekana International Cricket Stadium is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and facilities.
