Cyber Crime Cell in Hazratganj sealed for 24 hours as detainees test coronavirus positive

Lucknow's Cyber Crime Cell housed in the premises of the Hazratganj Police Station shuts down for the next 24 hours as 3 out of 9 detainees in the cell test positive for the novel coronavirus. The Superintendent of Police and 14 other police officers are quarantined as a precautionary measure.

What's the news?

Last Thursday, around 9 alleged fraudsters were detained by the City's Cyber Police for tampering with the accounts of various pension holders. A test at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital revealed that 3 out of 9 were coronavirus positive. The police officers who escorted them to the hospital for admission were caught up in the chaos for several hours.

As a result, the Cyber Cell SP and the reporting 14 officers are under home isolation and quarantined to prevent the spread of virus, and the entire Crime Cell is sealed for the next 24 hours for the purpose of deep cleaning and sanitation.
