Moderate to heavy showers expected across UP until August 24.

Lucknow and the whole of Uttar Pradesh are set for a significant change in weather this week. After a four-day stretch of sunny skies that pushed temperatures up by 5-6°C, heavy rains are set to return from August 21.

Senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh predicts moderate to heavy showers across the state until August 24. Eastern UP, including Lucknow, will experience the first round of rainfall on the 21st, with the system intensifying and spreading westward by the 22nd and 23rd. Over 50 districts are on high alert for thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching 40-50 km/h.

This active monsoon phase, triggered by a new weather system in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to bring widespread rainfall and lower temperatures by up to 4°C.
