The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the country experienced its second warmest November in the last 123 years. On an average, India recorded the monthly maximum temperature of 29.37°C, which was 0.62°C above normal.
The above-normal temperature trend has continued since October and it has led to the winter not quite arriving in its full glory, yet. If the trend continues, the mild winter can also lead to 2024 becoming the hottest year ever.
The weather in UP, especially Lucknow and Kanpur, has been relatively unpredictable in the last few weeks. According to the numbers till now, the state experienced its hottest November since 1901 and winter is yet to arrive in its chilling glory.
Furthermore, the meteorological department predicts that winters in UP will continue to stay on the moderate side in December, as well. As of now, there are no chances of winter showers, which will also keep the temperatures high across the state.
On the other hand, Mumbai experienced one of its chilliest November in the last decade. Within a week, Mumbai recorded its coldest November day twice, taking the temperature as low as 16.3°C.
