Knocksense Shorts | UP Govt to launch rental e-bikes in 15 cities, including Lucknow and Kanpur

As an initiative to provide modern connectivity solutions while contributing to the environment, the Directorate of Transport, Uttar Pradesh, is working on launching rental e-bike and e-cycle services across 15 cities.

According to the Directorate, the services will be rolled out in cities including Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Aligarh, Meerut, Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra, Shahjahanpur, Jhansi, Bareilly, Ayodhya, and Moradabad. To facilitate the project, the Directorate has requested city municipal authorities to provide details on proposed routes and charging stations.

Once operational, the introduction of rental e-bikes and e-cycles will be an effective transport option for students and the general public. The service will further prove to be a convenient and eco-friendly alternative while improving last-mile connectivity.
