The Lucknow-Kanpur expressway is now 65% complete and is expected to be operational by October 2025. Notably, the construction of this expressway utilizes 3D Automatic Machine-Guided (AMG) technology, marking a significant milestone as a first for India. This advanced method not only enhances road quality but also reduces fuel consumption and lowers construction costs.

Recent project updates reveal that a total of 2,300 girders are required for the expressway's completion, with over 1,900 already installed. Additionally, slab casting and road construction are progressing on the completed sections, utilizing the innovative 3D AMG technique. According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the expressway is projected to open to the public between May and June 2025.

3D AMG Technology
Automated Machine Guidance (AMG) is a downstream application that can be applied to highway construction projects to provide construction efficiencies through enhanced location referencing. Using a 3D model, construction equipment is guided to improve accuracy and accelerate certain construction processes.
