Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has expedited its Green Corridor initiative, with a renewed push to construct a 24-metre-wide, four-lane road connecting Shaheed Path to Kisan Path. This new route will pass between the Gomti River and Ekana Stadium, aiming to ease intracity movement.
LDA Vice Chairman, Prathamesh Kumar, during a field inspection on Wednesday, directed immediate commencement of soil levelling for a dam on the right bank of the Gomti. The dam will support road construction under the corridor project. A task force combining members from engineering zone-1, the acquisition section, and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) has been set up to remove construction bottlenecks.
Further, to ensure constant supervision, a dedicated site office will be established behind Ekana Cricket Stadium. The office will be staffed with representatives from key LDA departments for streamlined coordination and faster decision-making.
Kumar also assessed the parallel master plan’s 45-metre-wide road near Ekana and instructed teams to push for its swift completion. At CG City’s wetland zone, he reviewed work on a 6-metre-wide pathway being developed alongside a cofferdam. Officials were directed to increase manpower to speed up the pace of construction.
