Lucknow records 45 dengue cases on Thursday; LMC begins 15-day massive fogging drive

The city has not witnessed any respite from the dengue infections for the past few days. This Thursday Lucknow recorded a total of 45 fresh dengue cases taking the yearly tally to 1,498.

6 cases were reported Chander Nagar, 5 cases each in Indira Nagar and Aliganj, 4 cases each in Turiyaganj, Silver Jubilee and Red Cross, and 3 cases in the NK Road area. Other areas including Bakshi Ka Talab, Itaunja, Kakori and Malihabad recorded 2 cases each.

LMC launches 15-day anti-dengue campaign

Acknowledging the dire need for mitigation measures, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has now kicked off a 15-day dengue control campaign. Under this, the civic body deployed a total of 400 fogging and anti-larvae sprinkler mounted vehicles on Thursday.

On the first day of the campaign, a massive fogging drive was carried out in over 60 localities of Lucknow including Indira Nagar, Jankipuram, Krishna Nagar, Jiamau, Dalibagh, Rajajipuram, Rana Pratap Marg and Vijaynagar.

Fogging and anti-larvae sprinkling operations will be continued in different areas of the city and in the nearby regions for the next 15 days.
