Lucknow Weather: Monsoon eases, isolated rains till August 10 & more

Rising heat & humidity are likely to return.

Somya Agarwal

Lucknow has enjoyed a spell of pleasant weather following days of heavy rain that brought water logging and swollen rivers. While this provided relief from heat and humidity, Meteorological Department warns that conditions will soon change. Starting today, rainfall will reduce significantly, with temperatures and humidity expected to rise again.

Today’s forecast

IMD has not issued any alerts for today and predicts only isolated showers. However, several districts in western UP, including Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur, may see rain and thunderstorms. Eastern UP is expected to experience light rainfall. No warning has been issued for Lucknow until August 10, with only isolated showers expected. Residents should brace for the return of heat and humidity in the coming days.

Weather system in play

The active monsoon trough currently stretches from Amritsar through Muzaffarnagar and Kheri to Arunachal Pradesh, while another trough runs from northwest UP to Gujarat and the Arabian Sea. A mid-level western disturbance is also influencing northern UP, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall until August 5. After this, rainfall intensity and coverage are projected to diminish.
