Travelling from Noida to Lucknow is set to become significantly faster with a new Greenfield Expressway. According to reports, the travel time is expected to reduce from the current 6.5 hours to just 3–4 hours. The proposed expressway will cost an estimated ₹45,000 crore and is expected to be completed by 2026. It will start near Noida and extend to the outskirts of Lucknow, offering uninterrupted access-controlled driving.

Highlights of the project

  • Fully access-controlled, free of traffic signals, with advanced tolling systems.

  • Overbridges, service lanes, and a dedicated traffic management centre to ensure smooth transit.

  • With multiple entry and exit points, the expressway is designed to improve connectivity with nearby villages, markets, and towns.

Economic impact

The expressway is expected to boost business travel, logistics, and tourism between Delhi-NCR and Lucknow. Real estate experts anticipate sharp increases in land values along the route, while small businesses in adjoining villages are likely to benefit from enhanced connectivity.

Further, with the Greenfield Expressway, the government aims to provide world-class speed and convenience, setting a new benchmark for road infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and reducing travel time dramatically.
