In view of the monsoon and incoming heavy rains, Lucknow Zoo is getting ready with a range of preparations. Accumulation of water is one of the biggest problems and to tackle that, the authorities have ensured arrangements to quickly pump out water from water bodies inside. Steps are also being taken to maintain proper ventilation in animal enclosures to help them deal with humidity.

Changes have also been made in the animals' diet

As for nutrition, the Lucknow Zoo authorities have shifted their focus on seasonal fruits for herbivorous animals. For carnivores, they're going with high protein meat in relatively lesser quantity to avoid upsetting their digestion in this heavily humid weather.

It is noteworthy that the humidity in Lucknow has been hovering over 80% in the last few days. Hence, some animal enclosures have also been fitted with vetiver screens to allow for a smooth flow of breeze and proper ventilation.
