Lucknow’s CG City to welcome a 15-acre Sahitya Park soon; details

The park will celebrate Indian literature with statues, library & more.

Lucknow is set to become a new favourite for literature lovers as the government has approved plans for a sprawling 15-acre Sahitya Park in CG City. Designed to celebrate India’s rich literary heritage, the park will feature statues, biographies, and interactive exhibits dedicated to renowned Hindi and regional language writers.

Features of Sahitya Park

The park will feature statues and biographies of prominent Indian authors, including those from Lucknow and across the state, laid out along a "literary journey path." Plans include a modern library, open theatre, digital galleries, interactive installations, and a children’s literature section. Visitors can look forward to poetry workshops, storytelling sessions, mushairas, and more.

The Construction and Design Services unit of Jal Nigam has been entrusted with the project, while the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and the Lucknow Development Authority have been directed to provide the required land, which has already been identified in CG City. A detailed project report (DPR) is expected soon.
