Lucknow will soon see its first grid road layout as part of the new 2,858-acre IT City township, located between Sultanpur Road and Kisan Path. The road network will include 45m, 30m, 24m, and 18m-wide grid roads, creating a rectangular network where streets intersect at right angles. This system is designed to improve navigation across the township. As per reports, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will begin road construction from July.

Land pooling gains momentum

The IT City Township project is progressing rapidly with increasing support from local landowners under the land pooling model. So far, 39 landowners from five villages have contributed over 185.95 acres free of cost. On Thursday, 50,167 sq m of land in Mohari Khurd was officially handed over to LDA by a private company.

With the acquired land, the township will feature around 5,000 residential plots ranging from 72 to 200 sq m. Further, the township will be divided into 10 sectors, each offering direct access to major highways. LDA aims to attract significant private investment by offering 445.65 acres for industrial use and 260 acres for commercial development.

To facilitate land mobilisation, an on-site office is being set up in Mohari Khurd with staff including naib tehsildars, amins, and lekhpals to assist farmers and speed up agreements.
