Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Station to host Pushpak and Chhapra Express from January 26

Aimed at decongesting Charbagh Station.

In a major operational reshuffle aimed at easing pressure on Charbagh and Lucknow Junction, the Railways has decided to shift two key long-distance train s to Gomti Nagar Station from January 26. These two rains are the Pushpak Express and the Lucknow–Chhapra Express. Along with the change of station, revised departure and arrival timings will also come into effect.

Revised Timings: Pushpak Express

Train No. 12533 Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express:

  • New departure: 8:45 pm from Gomti Nagar

  • Will halt at Badshahnagar at 9:00 pm

  • Arrival in Mumbai: 10:45 am next day
    (Current departure from Lucknow Junction is 9:25 pm)

Train No. 12534 Mumbai–Lucknow Pushpak Express:

  • Departure from Mumbai: 8:25 am on January 26

  • Arrival at Badshahnagar: 7:35 am next day

  • Arrival at Gomti Nagar: 8:00 am
    (Current arrival at Lucknow Junction is 7:10 am)

Why the shift?

Northern Railways is gradually moving major services, including the Tejas Express and Pushpak Express, to Gomti Nagar to ease congestion at Charbagh Junction. Gomti Nagar station is currently being upgraded as a world-class terminal, with increased capacity and improved passenger flow expected in the coming months.
